  • Home hemodialysis: New technologies, survival, cardiac arrest, and quality of life
  • Racial and ethnic differences: Dialysis outcomes, diabetes, CKD
  • Diabetic nephropathy: Racial and ethnic differences in access to care, quality of care, progression of care, progression/survival, and other outcomes
  • Glomerulonephritis: Mechanisms, outcomes, predictors of progression

Current Research

  • VA Pathways: Evaluation of racial and ethnic differences in progression of kidney disease in veterans with diabetes
  • Team Care: NIH-sponsored randomized trial to determine the benefit of collaborative intervention to improve outcomes in a primary care cohort with diabetes and cardiovascular disease
  • Increasing Kidney Awareness Network: NIH R01 to develop effective transplant educational material to increase transplant awareness among minority populations
  • VA NEPHRON D: VA randomized trial to determine the benefit of ACE and ARB versus ARB in diabetic nephropathy
  • Home Hemodialysis: Primary cohort to determine benefit of daily home therapy versus conventional home hemodialysis
