- Diabetic nephropathy: Racial and ethnic differences in access to care, quality of care, progression of care, progression/survival, and other outcomes
- Glomerulonephritis: Mechanisms, outcomes, predictors of progression

- VA Pathways: Evaluation of racial and ethnic differences in progression of kidney disease in veterans with diabetes
- Team Care: NIH-sponsored randomized trial to determine the benefit of collaborative intervention to improve outcomes in a primary care cohort with diabetes and cardiovascular disease
- Increasing Kidney Awareness Network: NIH R01 to develop effective transplant educational material to increase transplant awareness among minority populations
- VA NEPHRON D: VA randomized trial to determine the benefit of ACE and ARB versus ARB in diabetic nephropathy
- Home Hemodialysis: Primary cohort to determine benefit of daily home therapy versus conventional home hemodialysis
