University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC)
The Division of Nephrology maintains an active Renal Consult Service at the University of Washington Medical Center.  The Renal Consult Service provides a variety of services, including diagnostic evaluation of complex renal problems, diagnostic renal biopsy, acute hemodialysis and ultrafiltration, slow continuous dialysis and ultrafiltration, continuous arteriovenous hemofiltration (CAVH), CAVH-dialysis and CVVH.  The division also provides pheresis therapy through the Dialysis Laboratory, with multiple services including plasmapheresis, leukopheresis, erytheropheresis, thrombopheresis and lipopheresis.

The Division of Nephrology provides transplant medicine support to the Kidney and Kidney-Pancreas Transplant Services as well as to transplant programs in heart, liver and lung. This involves both inpatient and outpatient care.

Harborview Medical Center (HMC)
The Division of Nephrology provides active renal consultation and inpatient and outpatient services at Harborview Medical Center, similar to those described above for the University of Washington Medical Center. Kidney transplantation is not performed at HMC, but outpatient transplant follow up care is provided.

VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VA/PSHCS)
The Division of Nephrology at the  VA PSHCS provides renal services similar to those described above. In addition, there is a chronic outpatient dialysis program. Kidney transplantation is not performed at the  VA PSHCS, but outpatient transplant follow up care is provided.

Most of our patients with chronic renal failure receive outpatient dialysis services through the Northwest Kidney Centers, including 11 satellites as well as home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis therapy.
