Dr. Donald Sherrard (Professor of Medicine). He directs the clinical research training grant and program based at the VA Puget Sound Health Care Systems. His clinical interests are in end-stage renal disease and renal osteodystrophy. His research interests center on mechanisms of metabolic bone disease in patients with renal failure where he utilizes bone biopsy technologies to study osteomalacia, osteitis fibrosa cystica and adynamic bone disease in uremic subjects. Dr. Sherrard's research is supported by the Veteran's Administration and the Baxter Extramural Grant Program.
