Conferences
In addition to the conferences that occur at each of the affiliated hospitals and during the elective rotations, there are several conferences that are program wide and attended by all the residents and faculty, as well as many community neurologists.
- Neurology Grand Rounds: occur weekly for two hours. The first hour is presented by the affiliated hospitals and specialty clinics. The focus is typically on clinical issues. The second hour is divided among core conferences, neuropathology presentations and out-of-town speakers. The core conferences are a series of talks covering many areas in the neurosciences and related fields. The series is updated and repeats itself on a three year cycle such that all residents are exposed to these topics by attending the weekly conferences.
- Neurology Clinical Conference: A "show-and-tell" conference is held twice monthly in which live patients are presented to demonstrate interesting physical findings, and to generate a discussion about management issues.
- Neurology Resident Didactic Series: A series of introductory talks in neuropathology, neuroanatomy, neuropharmacolocy, basic neurosciences and electrophysiology; all Tuesdays without a Clinical Conference.
- Journal Club: A monthly evening meeting structured with resident-faculty pairs discussing topical, clinically relevant papers. This is also attended by all the residents.
- Neuroanatomy Review Course: During the summer months, a 4 day-a-week course is given.
