Neuro-ICU Rotation Information
Harborview Medical Centers offers a Neuro-ICU experience on a dedicated service run cooperatively by the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Pulmonology, and Anesthesia. Management of critical neurologic issues is stressed, including subarachnoid hemorrhages, trauma, and post-operative complications. Daily rounds occur with ICU team, as well as the Neurosurgery team and the Neuroradiologists. There are multiple ongoing clinical research trials within this setting, and short or long term projects are encouraged. This is the only rotation which requires that the resident take Q4 overnight call, so arrangements should be made in advance in order to have coverage on the general neurology schedule.
