Research
The Department of Neurology has well-equipped laboratory
and research facilities with basic laboratories for neurochemistry and
neurophysiology in the Medical School adjacent to the University of Washington
Medical Center and at the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System.
The laboratories of Neuropathology and Electroencephalography are well
equipped for both clinical and research purposes.
An interdisciplinary neuroscience program with great diversity exists in the medical school. This program sponsors numerous seminars and courses in basic neuroscience. Neurology residents with strong interest in pursuing basic research projects during or following their residency can often arrange to work with a member of this faculty.
