Fellowship Description: This is a one-year ACGME accredited fellowship focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Fellows will be exposed to the full range of sleep disorders including: sleep-disordered breathing, narcolepsy and other hypersomnias, insomnia, restless legs syndrome/ periodic limb movement disorder, and circadian rhythm disturbances. Fellows will learn to perform and interpret all diagnostic modalities in sleep medicine including polysomnography, multiple sleep latency testing, maintenance of wakefulness testing, and actigraphy. Fellows are expected to complete a clinical research project during their fellowship and present their work at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Those trainees interested in further research or an academic career will be encouraged to apply for research funding or for one of the positions in the Department's Research Training in Neurology (T32) program for additional research training.
