Fellowship Description: This is an NIH funded T32 program for Neurologists interested in training for academic careers. Fellows will be supported for 2 to 3 years of research training in one of four specific research tracks: 1) Basic Science in Neurology 2) Clinical Research in Neurology 3) Neurogenetics and 4) Translational Research in Neuromuscular Disease. Fellows in this program will be placed in a laboratory or research group setting and obtain mentorship in research methods, communication of research results, and the development of formal research proposals. Fellows will be assigned a primary mentor with whom they will perform research and receive additional mentorship from the faculty in their chosen research track. This fellowship can proceed or follow subspecialty clinical fellowship training. All fellows in this program must commit at least 80% of their effort to mentored research, but can continue clinical work at 20% of their time.
