He treats both children and adults.  Dr. Ellenbogen is assisted in the operating room with some of the best and brightest  Neurological Surgery residents in the country, from the University of Washington.  The residents provide 24/7 meticulous and compassionate care of each patient.  The National Institute of Health (NIH) has even funded a study in which UW investigators (Drs. Buchwald, Maravilla and Ellenbogen) are studying the relationship of patients's symptoms and neurological findings with Chiari malformations.
