Patient Care

Introduction

The Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington has been an international leader and pioneer in the care and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves. The department was started in 1947 under the Division of Surgery and established as its own department in 1965.

Our comprehensive and multi-disciplinary approach to complex neurosurgical problems such as tumors, degenerative disease, vascular lesions, epilepsy, spinal anomalies, peripheral nerve disorders, and developmental defects ensures patients uncompromised care and the most advanced facilities and modern resources. In addition, our well established NIH and privately funded research programs allow us to bring leading-edge advances from the laboratory to the clinic and operating room.

We are grateful for the opportunity to provide outstanding patient care to the public and welcome your exploration of our site.
