iPad needed for use with Huntington’s disease patients
Monday, February 24th, 2014
We are looking for an iPad (full size) to use to help our Huntington’s disease patients at the University of Washington. Patients with later stage Huntington’s disease lose their ability to communicate and are unable to use conventional modes of alternate devices, such as computers, smartphones, etc., due to uncontrolled body movements.
There are 2 iPad programs available that are assitive communication programs to provide a means of verbal communication to people with speech disabilities. If you would like to see a short clip of how one of these program works, you can watch at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0JArgwGirY
Please consider donating your “no longer needed” iPad to help support those in need. It could change a life, giving a voice to the voiceless.
