Abstract: The Ochre-breasted Antpitta is distributed locally in the highlands of Costa Rica and Panama and in the Andes from western Colombia to western Bolivia. In Ecuador it is recorded mostly from 800 to 2000 m and is uncommon to locally common in undergrowth of montane forest and foothills on both slopes. Three nests of G. flavirostris, two at 1750 m and a third at 1100 m, were discovered in Sumaco-Galeras National Park, Napo province, Ecuador. Nests were 1-2 m off the ground in the fork of small saplings and were composed of moss on the outside with a small inner cup of dark rootlets. Two nests contained two eggs each that appeared pale reddish brown with dark spotting. The third nest contained two nestlings.
