Seek local consultation

Those caring for infants exposed to HIV-1 should contact the appropriate infectious disease specialists for their region to obtain their recommended guidelines for care. The guidelines that follow are those recommended by the Pediatric Infectious Disease Service of the University of Washington.

Health care professionals in the Pacific Northwest should contact Lisa Frenkel, M.D., Ann Melvin, M.D., or Kathy Mohan, if they have questions about the management of HIV-exposed/infected infants and children by calling Medcon at 206-543-5300 or 800-326-5300.
