Arranging Neonatal Transport

  1. Collect patient records including bedside chart
  2. Initiate contact with MEDCON 206-543-5300 or toll free 800-326-5300. Please do not contact Airlift Northwest directly nor the chief resident at Children's. If you have already done so please have them contact MEDCON.
  3. The MEDCON neonatologist on call will determine with you the mode of transportation (ground, air, fixed wing, helicopter), the destination (Children's, University of Washington, or elsewhere) and whether or not a physician needs to accompany the transport
  4. The MEDCON physician will contact the transport team and give an estimated time of arrival
  5. The MEDCON physician will be available for management questions up to and during the transport
  6. Please have available copies of the physician and bedside charts as well as all labs (copies of X-Rays if possible though originals are acceptable)
