STD Grand Rounds: Genital Dermatology
Purpose
and Objectives:
During this broadcast, we reviewed some fundamental
terminology and demonstrated the importance of taking a
systematic, morphologic, problem-oriented approach. Participant
handouts were supported by clinical case presentations and a panel
discussion with leading clinicians in the field.
After the broadcast, clinicians were able to:
1. Identify genital dermatologic pathology associated
with sexually and non-sexually transmitted diseases.
2. Summarize the diagnostic approach to the patient with
dermatologic disease.
3. Select the appropriate diagnostic workup and treatment
for these genital dermatological conditions.
Interactivity:
Participants
may submit written follow-up questions using instructions to be
provided at each viewing site. Our faculty panel will review these
inquiries and select up to 25 that reflect topic-related and
clinical practice issues. A question-and-answer summary will then
be posted on this web site and will be available via the Center
for Disease Control and Prevention's faxback system.
