Syndromes in Females in Males and Females Appendices |
This web site provides access to The Practitioner’s Handbook for the Management of Sexually Transmitted Disease published by the Seattle STD/HIV Prevention Training Center. Individual PDF (portable document format) files can be downloaded from the left menu so that you can create your own copy of The Practitioner’s Handbook. The Practitioner’s Handbook is designed to assist practitioners in primary health care, family medicine, emergency medicine, and other specialties in the optimal management of patients with sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and their partners. PDF documents require Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing or printing. Acrobat Reader is available free of charge from the Adobe Web site at:http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html How to use:The left menu provides access to each section of The Practitioner's Handbook. The sections are organized by disease syndrome as this most closely approximates clinical practice. Because many patients with STD may have few or no symptoms or have simultaneous infections involving more than one site, routine screening of patients and their partners is also emphasized (see Clinical Approach). Clicking on any link will open a PDF file, which includes the entire text of that section plus photographs. Since the photographs are full color, the quality of your printer will affect the quality of the images. You are encourage to print The Practitioner's Handbook to use for your own reference or for training others. The resulting manual provides detailed information about each syndrome.
