Alaska Fire Effects Reference Database

The purpose of the Alaska Fire Effects Reference Database is to provide a comprehensive listing of fire research publications relevant to Alaska, and also to provide a venue for sharing unpublished agency reports and works in progress that are not normally found in the published literature. References noted as 'DRAFT' should not be cited without consulting the author. Relevant papers, poster abstracts, web sites, progress reports, and proposals, are solicited. The database is a cooperative effort of the Alaska Fire Effects Task Group, a subcommittee of the Alaska Wildfire Coordinating Group Fire Research Development and Applications Committee. Funding for the database has been provided by the Joint Fire Sciences Program.

Users can access the database in two ways, either by accessing it online or by downloading the database in Reference Manager® format.

FIREHouse is a collaboration between the Fire and Environmental Research Applications Team (FERA) of the USDA Forest Service Pacific Northwest Research Station, Pacific Wildland Fire Sciences Laboratory; the University of Washington; the National Park Service; the Bureau of Land Management – Alaska Fire Service; the US Fish and Wildlife Service; and the National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII). The NBII is a broad, collaborative program that provides increased access to data and information on the nation’s biological resources. Funding for FIREHouse has been provided by the Joint Fire Science Program (JFSP) and NBII. FIREHouse is coordinating efforts with the Fire Research and Management Exchange System (FRAMES) project team. Content on FIREHouse will provide substantial contributions to the Northwest Fire Science Portal and the Alaska Fire Science Portal.
