ANNUAL TELEHEALTH SERIES:
GERIATRIC HEALTH PROMOTION FOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS
About the Series
Since 2006, the
University of
Washington NW Geriatric Education Center, UW Continuing Nursing Education and UW Telehealth Services
have partnered in telecasting a series
of continuing education programs for geriatric healthcare professionals
and family caregivers throughout
Western Washington. Utilizing presentations
developed by the NW Geriatric Education Center, the series assists
providers in developing and enhancing health promotion interventions to
prevent disease and postpone further disability for the older adults they
serve.
Nationally and regionally recognized faculty from
the University of Washington present each topic and facilitate discussion.
This ten-week series gives community-based providers working in the
field of aging the opportunity to access valuable information
without having to travel a great distance!
The annual series is cablecast weekly via the University of Washington Telehealth Network to
potential rural sites from January to mid-March each year.
Accreditation is available for
physicians, nurses, social workers,
counselors, and psychologists.
