Volunteering for a Research StudyThere are 12-15 research studies ongoing at the NWLRC at any given time. Several are usually starting, and open to new volunteers. You may be eligible to participate in one of these studies. Studies may last only a few weeks, or as long as several years. Benefits to you may include free blood tests, medication, physical exams, diet counseling, and access to expert advice about lipid management. You will also be contributing to new knowledge and better treatments for people at increased risk for heart disease. To be eligible for most studies, you must have high LDL cholesterol, high trigycerides, and/or low HDL cholesterol. Some studies are for people with diabetes or heart disease, or persons taking a statin to which another medication can be added. To learn more, leave
a message or send us an email with your name and telephone number (or
e-mail address). A study coordinator will return your call.
