The Office of Animal Welfare is a department of the University of Washington providing support to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) as well as to university researchers and educators who use live vertebrate animals as part of their programs.

The Office of Animal Welfare (OAW) facilitates the IACUC review of research protocols and grants involving live vertebrate animals. In addition, the OAW provides oversight and compliance on behalf of the IACUC in accordance with applicable laws, policies and regulations.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
