UW DCM Centralization Initiative

The Department of Comparative Medicine (DCM) within the School of Medicine has initiated a staged process that will eventually result in the DCM assuming day-to-day operation of most laboratory-managed animal housing facilities within the UW, ultimately bringing these sites under central control.  A DCM Centralization Task Force has been formed to work one-on-one with decentralized groups and help facilitate a seamless conversion.  This ‘centralization’ process was initiated in 2011 and continues to occur in stages because it is a complex task requiring changes in practices as well as facility improvement.  More information can be found here.
