California Childhood Obesity Conference was held in San Diego on March
19-20, 2001. The 2003
conference is tentatively scheduled for January 6-8, 2003.

This publication is a compilation of resources about childhood obesity for educators and researchers. It is comprised primarily of articles from professional journals (published in 1997 or later), but includes some information available on the World Wide Web, as well as a small number of consumer educational materials.
Revitalizing WIC Nutrition Services
Project focusing on chronic disease risk reduction both in WIC and the general population. Will provide training and build skills for local WIC staff in Washington state on a client oriented, behavioral approach to nutrition services that promotes healthy lifestyles. In addition, WIC staff will gain new skills enabling them to apply public health approaches to enhance local nutrition services that focus on chronic disease risk reduction.
