Physical Activity Focus

In Fall 2001 the Task Force on Community Preventive Services released evidence-based recommendations for effective population-level strategies to improve physical activity levels [MMWR October 26, 2001;50(No. RR-18)]. An in-depth review of the evidence and findings, as well as commentaries from leading subject matter experts, has been published as a supplement to the May 2002 issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.  Articles from the supplement are available on the Community Guide's website.
