Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award (K23)
As one of the National Institutes of Health Research Career Awards, the Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award (K23) is a mentored career award for individuals that provides salary and limited research support to clinicians who require a period of intensive mentored research experience to become independent investigators. The K23 is limited to patient-oriented research.

Scholars who have already completed their Mentored Patient-Oriented Research:
- Darcy B Carr, MD, MS, Maternal-Fetal Medicine (July 2000 through June 2006)
— Insulin Sensitivity, Hemodynamics, and Endothelial Function in Women with a History
of Preeclampsia
