Check-in
On Monday, your first day, please be in the lobby of the hospital at 8:30 AM for hospital orientation. Upon arriving back at IWH, please check in with Kimberly McDermott. At check in, students will:
- Sign necessary forms, including a confidentiality agreement and W-9 tax identification form
- Receive a pager for use during the rotation
- Receive a copy of the Interior Women's Health dress code
After completing this process, you will meet with Dr. Baurick to begin your clerkship.

Rooms are reserved under the name of each student. Please contact the Wedgewood Resort a few days in advance to confirm your arrival time.
Transportation
Please contact Dollar Rental Car at: 451-4360, and confirm your reservation and arrival date as soon as you have your travel dates.
When you arrive at the airport in Fairbanks, please visit the Dollar Rental Car desk on the lower level. A car rental has been reserved under each student's name. Students will be expected to pay for the car rental with their credit card, and submit a copy of the car rental credit card receipt to Scott Bailey for reimbursement.

Students will be reimbursed for the cost of the pre-reserved vehicle and taxes. Upgrades and/or insurance are the responsibility of the student.
Clinical Expectations
During your six-week rotation, you will be expected to accompany your preceptor to surgery and participate in deliveries. You will rotate shadowing one of our board certified obstetricians/gynecologists. You will also be expected to make a weekly presentation to your preceptors and other OB/GYN clinical staff.
Hospital
Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in Fairbanks and is located at 1650 Cowles St. For student convenience, there is a lounge and medical library at the hospital.
Textbooks
The following textbooks will be available for use during your stay at TVC and will need to be returned prior to your departure.
- Comprehensive Gynecology (not required, but available as reference)
4th Edition: 2001, Herbest, Mishell & Stenchever, Droegemueller
- Blueprints Obstetrics and Gynecology (required)
5th Edition: 2008, Callahan
- Obstetrics: Normal and Problem Pregnancies (not required, but available as reference)
4th Edition: 2001, Gabbe
Check Out
On your final day at IWH, please visit Kimberly to complete the administrative portion of your rotation. At this time students will need to:
- Turn in pager. If pager is not turned in, the student will be subject to a $79.95 replacement fee
- Submit car rental receipts for reimbursement
- Turn in any text books belonging to IWH
- Check out of Wedgwood Resort
