Bed Rest (BR) |
Patient not allowed out of bed. Bedpan only. If patient not able to have a BM on the bedpan, obtain an order to allow a commode to be used for a BM only. |
Bed Rest with Bathroom Privileges (BR c BRP) |
Patient is allowed to go only to the bathroom. Patient may stop at the sink to wash. No shower allowed without Dr's specific order. No wheelchair allowed without Dr's specific order. |
Pelvic Rest |
No activities that increase pelvic congestion, ie, dancing, long driving, horseback riding, prolonged sitting, vacuuming, lifting over 10-15 pounds.
No tampons, douching, or intercourse. |
