Ambulatory Women's Health Training

Program Goal

To develop the OBGYN resident's knowledge and skills to effectively evaluate and manage common and specialized women's health issues in the ambulatory setting

Over the past several years, the University of Washington OB Gyn training program has expanded its ambulatory Women's Health training in response to graduates' feedback and changing practice trends in the specialty. The expanded ambulatory training (with educational objectives and resources on password-protected MedHub) includes the following:

PGY-1

Institutional Key:

HMC: Harborview Medical Center

UWMC: University of Washington Medical Center

SCH: Seattle Children's Hospital

SCCA: Seattle Cancer Care Alliance

PGY-2

PGY-3

PGY-4

In addition to the above specialty Women's clinic, PGY-1 through PGY-3 attend a half day continuity clinic with their own panel of obstetrics and gynecology patients. Residents select their continuity clinic sites (HMC vs UW) after they match in this program and see their patients at that site for a half day each week for the first three years of training.
