Cheyenne Obstetrics & Gynecology
Cheyenne Obstetrics and Gynecology is a private practice that has been in existence since 1979. Currently, it consists of 7 Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologists, 2 Certified Nurse Midwives and 1 Nurse Practitioner. Our practice is located in a brand new office building adjacent to Cheyenne Regional MEdical Center.
Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC)
Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is the only full-service hospital for Cheyenne, Wyoming, the state capital. Patient populations are derived from the southeastern region of Wyoming, western Nebraska, and northern Colorado. Cheyenne is approximately 100 miles due north of Denver, Colorado and sits on the crossroads of Interstate 80 and Interstate 25. Approximately 1000 deliveries occur at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center yearly, and approximately 70% of these are performed by Cheyenne Obstetrics and Gynecology.
A furnished, one-bedroom apartment will be provided across the street from the hospital/clinic, and includes high-speed internet access.
Having a car will be convenient but is not a necessity. Parking at the office/ hospital is at free multi-level parking lot, directly adjacent to the office/hospital.
A large number of obstetric and gynecologic textbooks will be available to the students. Suggested reading materials will be provided as handouts. Our intention is to provide the basics of routine obstetrics and gynecology, both through academic reading, lectures, and with hands-on patient experience. Computer access is available at both the COG office and at the hospital.
Pagers are not required for this rotation; however, students should bring their own cell phone and laptop.
The majority of the student/patient contacts will take place in a private office setting. Cheyenne is an informal town, but jeans and T-shirt are not acceptable dress. A white lab coat with appropriate student identification, worn over casual professional clothing will be fine. Scrubs will be available for Labor & Delivery.
