All other sites
Orientation information is provided in a cover letter accompanying the rotation information packet sent out in advance by email. Most sites have required paperwork that must be completed and turned in approximately 4–5 weeks prior to the start of your rotation in order to have privileges in place when your rotation begins.
A general clerkship Orientation is now available on-line for students across the WWAMI states. Please view before the clerkship begins and thereafter as needed:
In addition, please view the powerpoint presentation slides, created by resident Andrea Zins, MD on getting oriented, clerkship expectations, and tips for a successful rotation.
Work hours will not be specifically logged unless you feel it is necessary because of a potential violation. If you are working close to the 80-hour limit, please document your hours for the week in question and present these to your Site Director as soon as possible. Your work schedule will be modified as appropriate. Further concerns should be brought to the attention of the Clerkship director. You will never be discriminated against for following the work hour policy. For more details about this policy, please refer to the Reference section of this website.
Please also refer to the "Clerkship Absentee Policy."
