On Saturday, August 29, 2009 the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity hosted the third annual Eastern Washington Scholars Reception at the Desert Wind Winery in Prosser, Washington. This reception recognized incoming University of Washington (UW) freshmen scholars, their family, friends, the community and UW alumni.
The honored scholars represented various schools from the Yakima Valley and Tri-Cities. A total of sixty attendees were at the reception, which was sponsored by the OMA&D, GEAR UP, MESA and the UWAAA
