The UW’s commitment to diversity gained strength with the recent appointment of Luis Fraga to the newly created position of associate vice provost for faculty advancement. Fraga is charged with encouraging the recruitment, retention and promotion of historically underrepresented faculty, and with supporting research on diversity issues and underrepresented communities.
