Apply to become a Dream Project High School Lead!

High School Lead (HSL) interns act as teaching assistants to Dream Project’s Education courses (EDUC 260 & 360), and lead quiz sections (breakouts) full of undergraduate mentors. They are also the Dream Project leads present at weekly high school mentorship visits and oversee mentors in the field during those visits. Through this role, they develop professionalism and effective communication skills as they liaise with school staff on Dream Project-related administrative functions.

10 hours per week
$2250 yearly stipend

    Instruct a UW service learning course (EDUC 369) over the course of a year.
  • Plan and facilitate weekly breakouts with assigned school’s mentors to prepare them for high school visits and explores important knowledge and perspectives related to social justice, college access, and mentorship strategies.
  • Ensure productive and meaningful working relationships between college mentors and high school students at weekly high school visits.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively and professionally with co-lead(s), school contacts, mentors, other Dream Project leaders, staff, etc.
  • Handle mandatory reporting with promptness and professionalism in situations of concern regarding potential abuse or neglect of minors.
