INL IS MAKING THE WORLD CLEANER AND SAFER. We research,
discover and demonstrate breakthrough technologies which are changing
the way we live, the way we travel, and the way we secure our nation’s
critical https://inl.gov/infrastructure.
We’re hiring 450+ interns for summer 2023 across 40+ professional
disciplines. We also offer co-op internships, high school internships, and
a dynamic postdoctoral researcher program.

• Undergraduate and graduate interns receive competitive pay based on
the number of credits completed. Many are also eligible for holiday pay,
travel reimbursements, and a generous housing stipend.
• All interns are paired with a mentor – You’ll spend 80% of your time
working with this mentor to apply your classroom knowledge to real life work, and 20% of your time engaging in career enrichment and
skill-building.
• Most internships will be based in beautiful Southeast Idaho. INL is a
short drive from breathtaking outdoor recreation, including more than
160 trails, 46 parks, 12 museums, 4 art centers, 3 zoos, and 2 national
parks (Yellowstone and Grand Teton)

ABOUT US: INL is a science-based, applied engineering national
laboratory supporting the U.S. Department of Energy’s mission in clean
energy, renewable energy and national defense. Our 5,500+ scientists,
researchers, and support staff work with national and international
governments, universities and industry partners to discover, demonstrate,
and secure innovative energy solutions.

Each year, INL hosts 450+ undergraduate and graduate students to
support its mission. Interns spend their first week working with their
mentor to outline goals and plan a successful internship. Throughout
the assignment, mentors provide considerable program assistance and
guidance. In addition to regular activities, interns are invited to attend
weekly seminars, tours and community events to develop their career.
Many interns also complete a final project to help accelerate their career
and educational pursuits!

ABOUT YOU: Eligible candidates must be enrolled full-time at an
accredited U.S. college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Given our national security mission, all interns must be able to pass a
background check and be eligible to work in the United States.
