Are you looking for a great part-time job?

Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) at the University of Washington is looking for Tutors.  SAAS needs to hire 30 hourly employees for the upcoming academic year (2014-2015).

Here is a list of available positions:  Faculty Liaison, Content Tutor, and Drop-In Session Tutors.  Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, however to be considered for Autumn Quarter 2014, please apply by September 2, 2014.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Content tutor student-athletes in specific discipline, complete online reports after each session, attend study skills and training throughout the quarter, and assist students with developing quarterly study plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

Tutoring or teaching experience is required.  Must be a patient communicator with ability to both explain material and test for comprehension.  Minimum 3.3 or higher GPA in courses you would like to tutor, excellent study skills, professional work ethic and attitude.  Additionally, tutors must be able to work 15-20  hours or more per week.  Student-Athlete Academic Services is not open on Saturdays or Sundays.   Applicants with limited availability will not be considered for the position.

Educational Benefits:

Tutors are able to sit in on classes (Faculty Liaisons only), work with professors, gain experience as an educator, and develop interpersonal communication skills.

Application deadline for Autumn Quarter 2014 is September 2, 2014.  Pay rates are aligned with union pay scale for Student Employees only.  Pay depends on degree status and experience. NON-STUDENTS AND STUDENTS are welcome to apply for positions.  Work Study students are STRONGLY encouraged to apply.
