Student Organizations
We have a number of medical student organizations that provide support, offer mentoring, as well as activities to help us stay connected with the communities we serve. We also maintain a listserve of individuals who would like to continue to receive information and updates on scholarships, conferences, summer programs, and other issues that pertain to medical careers and health disparities.
OMCA staff conducts many recruitment trips and school visits. We frequently need help with job shadow experiences, mentoring, community activism, lectures, and recruitment.
We help sponsor the Minority Association of Prehealth Students, an undergraduate club for prehealth students at the UW. Meetings are held every Thursday evening at 5:30 pm at the Ethnic Cultural Center.
