You Can Do It!
U-DOC is a high school summer enrichment program that seeks to foster, affirm and encourage students interest in the healthcare professions. It is offered at the University of Washington Seattle and the University of Alaska Anchorage. U - DOC UAA News:
The DK/UDOC/NIDDK Program won the Chancellor's Award for Excellence by a Group in Diversity! The announcement included an excerpt from a student from Kotzebue who credited the program with making it possible for her to continue to pursue a degree at UAA. Credit for the award belongs to a large group of people who have built the program through the years to what it is today, a summer experience for 25 rural, minority, underserved or otherwise disadvantaged youth to learn about health careers and life on a university campus!

ELIGIBILITY
- Be a U.S. citizen or hold a permanent resident visa
- Be a resident of Washington State
- By 2008 summer have recently completed your sophomore and junior year of high school
- Demonstrate an interest in medicine or dentistry
- Come from a disadvantaged background (economic, geographic, education)
and/or students who are underrepresented in medicine
INFORMATION
- Stipends cover housing, travel, and meals. There is no additional cost for attending this program. Daily attendance is mandatory. Students may not hold a summer job or participate in other programs or activities which may conflict with the three week U-DOC summer program.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Each student must submit:
- Online application by Marth 3rd.

UDOC will accept paper applications from Students who have no access to the internet. Paper applications need to be postmarked by March 3rd. - A current high school official seal transcript. (Ask your counselor how to obtain yours.)
- Print two (2) completed recommendation forms from a Science Teacher, Academic Advisor, Employer, Volunteer supervisor or Mentor who know your goals becoming a health professional.
- Gather sealed transcripts and recommendation forms into one envelope and mail to the UDOC office:
