R-2 Residents

Jessica Low Chen, MD

Dr. Chen was born and raised in Santa Ana, CA . She received her B.A. in Integrative Biology at the University of California at Berkeley, and her M.D. at UCLA/Drew Medical Education Program, Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Low Chen completed her preliminary year at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Los Angeles, CA.

 



Ashley May Ling Hayden, MD

Dr. Hayden was born and raised in the Northwest. She received her B.A. in History of Art at Yale University, and her M.D. at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Hayden completed her internship at Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena, CA .

 


Jeffrey Lawson Peckinpaugh, MD

Dr. Peckinpaugh was born and raised in Florence, Montana . He received his B.S. in Biomedicine at the Montana State University, Bozeman, MT, and his M.D. at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. Dr. Peckinpaugh completed his transitional year internship at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, WA .


Louis JF Yang, MD

Dr. Yang was born in Taiwan and moved to Vancouver, BC at the age of 11. He received his B.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at the University of California, Los Angeles, CA, and his M.D. at the Chicago Medical School, North Chicago, IL . Dr. Yang completed his transitional year internship at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, WA .

Shelly Nikita Bagai, MD

Dr. Bagai was born and raised in India, lived in Seattle for 16 years. She received her B.S. in Microbiology, and her M.D. at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. Dr. Bagai completed her R-1 year at University of Washington and its affiliated hospitals.


John Dewitt Knippers, MD

Dr. Knippers was born in Boise, ID, and raised in Portland, OR. He received his B.S. in Microbiology from Brigham Young University, and his M.D. from the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Medicine, Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Knippers completed his R-1 year at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.


Kristy Lynn Moeller, MD

Dr. Moeller was born and raised in Corvallis, MT. She received her B.S. in Chemistry from Montana State University, and her M.D. from University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle, WA. Dr. Moeller completed her R-1 year at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA.


Sandeep Randhawa, MD

Dr. Randhawa was born and raised in Chandigarh, India. He received his M.D. from the Christian Medical College, Punjab University, and also Ophthalmology residency training from the same institution. He did a glaucoma research fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute, Wayne State University, followed by a clinical neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the University of Iowa. Dr. Randhawa completed his R-1 year at St. Joseph Mercy, Oakland, Pontiac, MI.

Madeline Camille Almond, MD

Dr. Almond was born and raised in Flowood, Mississippi. She received her B.S. in Cell & Molecular Biology from Tulane University, and her M.D. from Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA. Dr. Almond completed her R-1 year at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, WA.


Andrew Anchung Chen, MD

Dr. Chen was born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and lived in Brazil from age 1 to 12 after which he moved to Framingham, Massachusetts. He received his B.S. in Molecular Biophysics/Biochemistry at Yale College, and his M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Chen completed his R-1 year at University of Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.


Douglas William Jacobson, MD

Dr. Jacobson was born in Palo Alto, California, and was raised nearby Menlo Park, California. He received his B.A. in Physics from Colorado College, and his M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Jacobson completed his R-1 year at Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA.


Mark Sulachat Soontornvachrin, MD

Dr. Soontornvachrin was born in Anaheim, California. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from University of California, San Diego, and his M.D. from Keck School of Medicine University of Southern California. He completed his R-1 year at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego in the Transitional Year program.

Denise DeAlva Garcia, MD (Oculplastics & Orbital Surgery)

Dr. Garcia graduated Summa cum laude with a B.S.E. degree from Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ. She received her M.D. degree cum laude from University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, MI. Her transitional internshsip was completed at Oakwood Hospital, Dearborn, MI, and her Ophthalmology residency training at the Kellogg Eye Center, University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, MI..
