BASIC SCIENCE GRAND ROUNDS


Held in conjunction with Grand Rounds, the Basic Science Grand Rounds are designed to improve interaction between clinicians and scientists at the University of Washington and provide an excellent overview of the clinical and basic science aspects of a particular problem. All of the research fellows and research faculty are in attendance. The conferences are held on the fourth Thursday of each month. NOTE: THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE:

The Basic Science Schedule is as Follows


  • 10:45 to 11:15 AM: Dedicated to examination of the patient who will be identified by the Chief Resident and invited to be present in the main clinic.

  • 11:15 to 11:30 AM: A 15-minute review of the patient with appropriate comments by one of the clinical faculty members, similar to Grand Rounds.

  • 11:30 to 12:00 PM: A 30-minute lecture (Room BB-824* Health Sciences Bldg) given by the Basic Science faculty member who has been invited to speak. [Note: this time varies according to the speaker]

  • 12:00 to 12:15 PM: A question-and-answer period on the faculty lecture.
