Dr. Russell Van Gelder and Dr. Tueng T. Shen lectured in the Winter Quarter 2009 Mini-Medical School on the medicine of vision.

Dr. Van Gelder starts by talking about the vision system and why people go blind.

Dr. Shen then picks up in part two discussing the global picture and future issues.

Science in Medicine lecture: Artificial Cornea Development for the Treatment of Global Blindness

 

Dr. Tueng T. Shen, M.D., Ph.D. discusses the treatment of corneal blindness today and the challenges still faced by many corneal blindness suffers worldwide, in a talk given October 23, 2008 at the University of Washington as a part of the UW School of Medicine “Science in Medicine” series.
