Even though LASIK and PRK are approved by the FDA up to 14
diopters of nearsightedness and 6 diopters of farsightedness, we no longer
correct more than approximately 10 diopters of nearsightedness or 4 diopters
of farsightedness because of poor predictability for higher corrections
and increased risk of complications such as glare, halos, and decreased
quality of vision after correction of high nearsightedness and farsightedness. |
