Receiving Childcare Subsidy
Funds are disbursed to students via direct deposit through the UW student account system beginning the week following the census day of each quarter (the census day is the 2nd Friday of the quarter). Due to the number of students in our program, it may take the entire week for all disbursements to be made by the Student Parent Resource Center.
Sign up for direct deposit through your Financial Aid Status under Student Finances in MyUW. This direct deposit is separate from any direct deposit you might have set up with UW Payroll.
Please note: it takes 2-3 business days for the funds to arrive in the student’s bank account. If direct deposit is not set up, a check will be mailed to the student’s local address.
At the end of each quarter in which you received child care subsidy, you must submit a Quarterly Cost Verification form. This form provides proof of charges and payments which is required for state and university auditors.
The Verification form must be filled out even if you are leaving the childcare program at the end of a quarter, in order to reconcile the funds paid to you. If your form is not turned in, the Student Parent Resource Center may place a hold on your transcripts and registration and you may be required to repay the entire amount of the assistance advanced by the program.
