The call schedule is a hybrid of out
of house and in house call with junior residents (1st
and 2nd year OTO) taking first call and senior residents
(3rd and 4th year OTO) taking back up call.
In house call is taken only at Harborview Medical
Center and consists of coverage every Monday and Tuesday
as well as every other weekend. In house call averages
approximately 2-3 times per month for junior residents.
Out of house call covers multiple sites and averages
5 times per month. An attending is assigned for call
each evening and weekend. We follow all ACGME duty
hour guidelines. Duty hours are carefully monitored
to assure compliance with these requirements.
