On-Site Childcare

There are two independently operated childcare centers located in University Family Housing which give priority enrollment to student-parents. Both centers operate on the philosophy that children learn and grow best in an environment that is warm, nurturing and supportive of individual needs. The children's rooms are designed to provide a wide variety of age appropriate learning experiences and hands-on activities which children are encouraged to explore at their own pace. Both centers are accredited by the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC). There is usually a waiting list, so parents are encouraged to contact the center(s) early.

University of Washington Childcare Center at Laurel Village -4200 Mary Gates Memorial Dr., Seattle- (206) 525-5122 serves infants, toddlers and preschoolers and University of Washington Childcare Center At Radford Court -6311 65th NE, #4300, Seattle- (206) 543-3737 serves infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The hours for both are 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, for full time. A half time option is also available Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you are interested in being placed on the waitlist for either of these centers, please call (206)523-1391. Two healthy snacks and a hot lunch are available each day to toddlers and preschoolers. For infants, formula, infant food and special dietary needs must be supplied by the parents.
