OWRC has partnered with departments around campus to offer writing support in three additional convenient locations.
Allen Research Commons
Our Research Commons location in Allen Library is specifically targeted for writers working on long-term projects. Sessions are exclusively drop-in; they cannot be booked in advance. In consideration of the extended scope of the work, these drop-in sessions can last up to an hour and a half.
Writing support at Allen Research Commons is staffed by graduate tutors who offer writers support, feedback, thoughtful questions and sincere, peer-to-peer conversation. In case of simultaneous requests for drop-in sessions, graduate students have priority at this site.
During Summer quarter, writers seeking writing support should make an appointment with the OWRC main site via our Sign Up page.
Health Sciences Library
Our partnership with the Health Sciences Library and Health Sciences schools enables us offer sessions to Health Sciences graduate and undergraduates, as well as students enrolled in Health Sciences classes. Our Health Sciences satellite center is located in room T-317B in the Health Sciences Library. Tutors may be available for drop-ins, but writers are able to sign-up for appointments ahead of time via our Health Sciences Sign Up page.
College of Education
We offer writing writing consultations in Miller Hall to College of Education graduate and undergraduate students, as well as any student enrolled in an Education class. Our College of Education satellite site is located in Miller 207. Tutors may be available for drop-ins, but writers are able to sign-up for appointments ahead of time via our College of Education Sign Up page.
