Imagecast v10.5 Troubleshooting List
System Symptoms Problem Solution
Centricity The PACS viewer flashes during a dictation or while performing a cine. The video card settings are incorrect for the Planar cards. Disable DirectDraw for the DOME monitors.
Imagecast Logging out of Imagecast takes a minute or more to complete. The order of installing the VR client was done incorrectly.  The Dragon Engine needs to be installed before the VRClient.msi Remove the VoiceRecognitionClient.msi followed by a reinstall.  The registration of a DLL will indicate the install completed successfully.
Imagecast Workstation Locks   Do not click on the Prefs button while in the dictation window.
Imagecast Workstation does not respond. Applications are still loading, PACS, VR, Document Management. Wait for the PACS Viewer to load.  The Centricity splash screen goes away.
Imagecast Workstation Freezes The workstation locks up or slows down when a user clicks on the background while the report window is active. Close the report window before interacting with the Imagecast buttons in the background.
Imagecast PACS does not launch and the “Use Diagnostic Viewer on this Workstation” is enabled.   Delete all cookies and empty Temporary Internet files including offline content.  If it continues to occur, disable it, log off, enable it, log off.
Imagecast Shortcut, Display desktop   Windows key + D
Imagecast Shortcut, Minimize active window   Windows key + M
Imagecast Shortcut, Restore minimized window   Shift + Windows key + M
Imagecast Save to Draft is not available.   In the Provider Dictionary, the “Is Contributing By Default:” is enabled.
Imagecast Imagecast appears behind the PACS viewer when Centricity launches.   Enable “Application is always displayed on top:” in the “Desktop Integration” tab found in “Prefs.”
Imagecast An exam does not appear in your worklist   Login to Imagecast, goto Scheduling>Enter/Edit Exam and add specialty to the Exam Modifier  field.  Example:  Neuro, Body, MSK
Imagecast / Dictaphone Mark Read is not available.   Enable “Allow Manual Dictation (Mark Read) from Exam Worklist” in the “Report Creation” tab found in “Prefs.”
VR The Dragon Engine will not initialize. VR does not start up. Remove the local voice profile on the workstation, “\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ScanSoft\NaturallySpeaking\Local
VR VR does not work, even though mic is active when trying to dictate and error follows user at different PC's.   1. Remove the local voice profile on the workstation, “\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ScanSoft\NaturallySpeaking\Local    2.  If that doesn't work, rename user's voice files on server at \\vr\vrprofiles\ and then have user re-read to re-create voice files.  Delete local profile as above.
VR VR is poor in quality. VR is poor in quality. 1. Log out of Imagecast.   2. Remove the local voice profile on the workstation, (Icon on desktop.)    3.  Log on to Imagecast.
VR Voice recognition quality is not stable.[1]   Re-run the Audio Wizard and/or the General Training.
VR Voice recognition quality is very poor.   Check the Mic and Speaker connections are plugged in correctly.  Typically, the Mic (Beige color) is reversed with the Speaker (Black color).
VR VR does not start by using the Record button on the SpeechMic.   Start the SpeechMic application by either using the SpeechMic.bat in the Startup folder in the Start Menu\Programs or the Control Application in the SpeechMike Driver Utility folder in the Start Menu\Programs.
VR VR Record button does not work.   Verify the SpeechMic Control Application is running and the button profile has been configured.
VR VR does not launch.   Minimize the Imagecast Application window and ensure the Audio Wizard is not waiting to be completed.
VR VR button is not available.   Enable Centricity RIS-IC Reporting and enable Voice Recognition in the Report Creation tab of Prefs.
VR There is no Spell Checker in VR.   Use Word in the Transcription services module.
