(Patients, Exams, Lookup) Indicates that images are available for viewing from the local PACS storage equipment. Clicking the indicator launches the image viewer in read-only mode. Positioning the cursor over the icon displays a ToolTip that contains the text Launch image viewer, indicating that the images can be viewed.

(Technologist, Referring) Indicates that images exist for the exam.

Note: For Centricity PACS, this icon also indicates that, although the images are available, they have not yet been verified. Radiologists can nevertheless view the images; however, they should not begin the report creation process. Contrast this with the images verified indicator.

Indicates that the images exist on remote PACS storage equipment. These images must be fetched to local PACS storage equipment before they can be viewed. Positioning the cursor over the icon displays a ToolTip that contains the text Fetch images from archive. Clicking the indicator starts the fetch process. For images on CWS-type storage equipment, positioning the cursor over the icon displays a ToolTip that contains the text Quick fetch image.

Note: This icon does not apply to the use of the Imagecast PACS for Radiology diagnostic viewer.

Indicates the images are currently being fetched from the archive and are not yet available for viewing.

Notes:

  • This icon does not apply to the use of the Imagecast PACS for Radiology diagnostic viewer.

  • Normally, this indicator is not a hyperlink. However, if a fetch request is suspended because the PACS system is not responding, this indicator becomes a hyperlink so users can restart the fetch.

Indicates to a radiologist that the images have been verified by a technologist. Accordingly, radiologists can view the images, knowing that they can also begin the report creation process. Positioning the cursor over the icon displays a ToolTip that contains the text Launch image viewer, indicating that the images can be viewed.

  • Contrast this indicator with the images available indicator.

This access is defined by the user's access group (that is, the user's organization) and the storage equipment defined for the organization via the Integration dictionary entries selected on the System Administration Setup window for Imaging Suite. Positioning the cursor over the icon displays a ToolTip that contains the text This exam has images in storage locations which are not currently accessible.

§         Exam is currently open; consequently, the corresponding report is not available for editing (there are several places in the Centricity RIS-IC system where an exam can be open for editing—for example, the Enter/Edit Exam and Results Reporting windows).

§         Exception is currently open in the Exceptions Handler window.

Notes:

§         Positioning the mouse pointer over the icon displays a ToolTip containing the reason for the lock and the name of the user who has the exam or exception open.

§         A locked exam or exception is not added to a work queue that is created automatically.

  • If a locked exam or exception loads into the work queue workspace, a lock indication is displayed. For information, refer to Work Queue Fields.
