Launch of the Creating Connections Regional Core Training (RCT) Curriculum

Tuesday, April 1, 2014

On March 26th, Sue Kerns and Barb Putnam presented the first of several MH Trainings for the Alliance for Child Welfare Excellence. This was the launch of the Creating Connections Regional Core Training (RCT) Curriculum in the WA State Alliance for Child Welfare Excellence on, “Mental Health: A Critical Aspect to Permanency and Wellbeing.” This training was attended by social workers, caregivers of foster children, social worker trainers, and Foster Parent trainers.  The three hour curriculum was designed as a soft-launch to provide an overview of key considerations related to children’s mental health services, including identification and classes of behavior problems, referral process for treatment, and matching to effective services (including EBP’s). The training will be refined and formalized by June for incorporation into the RCT curriculum.
