Co-Investigator:Pullmann, Michael, Ph.D
Research Coordinator: Starcia Ague

Abstract: The Division of Public Behavioral Health and Justice Policy is the contracted program evaluator for the King County Juvenile Drug Court Enhancement Project (JDCEP). The JDCEP engages youth enrolled in the King County Juvenile Drug Court with evidence-based, youth-specific treatment. King County will partner with current contracted agencies to implement the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) coupled with Assertive Continuing Care (ACC) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) when appropriate. The target population is youth in the King County Juvenile Drug Court aged 12-17 and their defined family networks. Treatment services will be family centered, community based, and focus on interactions between participants and their environments. Field- and strength-based case management, along with home visits, will be used to reinforce engagement and adherence to treatment goals and increase likelihood of family and youth participation and long term engagement. King County partners with six current contracted agencies: Auburn Youth Resources, Central Youth and Family Services, Center for Human Services; Kent Youth and Family Services, Youth Eastside services; and Washington Asian and Pacific Islanders Against Substance Abuse for the delivery of an outpatient treatment model.
