Pbio Graduate Program Application Process

Submit to the Office of Graduate Admissions (via online application):

  • The "Application for Admission to the Graduate School"
  • $50.00

Submit to the Department of Physiology & Biophysics:
(you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open and print our forms)

  • Printout of the web application or a copy of the paper "Application for Admission to the Graduate School"
  • Statement of Purpose: A one page discussion of such topics as which areas of research interest you, which faculty members' work is of interest to you, your previous research experience and publications, and your long-term goals.
  • A CV or resume highlighting your research experience
  • Four recommendation  letters
  • An unofficial copy of your GRE score report.
    (We will get the official score from the Graduate School)

We ONLY offer a PhD and only accept applications for AUTUMN quarter.

If you cannot send official copies of your transcripts right away, please submit unofficial copies in the interim.

We suggest you take the GRE no later than November in order for the official scores to be processed by the Graduate School by the deadline. We can use an unofficial copy of your GRE score report prior to our verification of the score with the Graduate School.
