Research Interests:

Integration of principles of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, toxicology, and clinical pharmacology to lead small molecule selection during late stage drug discovery research and development.

Biography:

Dr. Bloedow received his bachelors degree in pharmacy in 1968 from South Dakota State University and completed his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Washington State University.   After postdoctoral work in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Washington, he accepted a faculty position at the University of Colorado, School of Pharmacy.   He left his positions as Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Programs at the University of Colorado in 1990 to enter the biotechnology industry.   He recently retired from the industry after completing nine years at Genentech in South San Francisco, where he was Director of Small Molecule Pharmacology.
